DAY OF SERVICE IN TIJUANA

For those Loeb Fellows who are interested, we have identified an opportunity for a hands-on day of service through Via International, a philanthropic organization that conducts a range of community-based interventions in Mexico. Via International are tenants of Bread and Salt.

We are still firming up the details, but it looks like we will have two hands-on activities: In the morning we will be helping with a construction project at an elementary school. We will have a celebratory lunch there.  In the afternoon, we will be working in community gardens along the border fence. Transportation will be arranged by Via International. The return trip will be after the afternoon activity, but those who want to can stay in Tijuana for dinner and make their own way back.

Currently we have 15 Loeb volunteers as well as an additional three $100 donations from Loebs who want to contribute but who can’t make that day. You can still volunteer or contribute!

Note that additional expenses associated with this extended stay are not be covered by the Fellowship, although the Fellowship has agreed to provide some seed funding.

Please let us know if you are interested. Questions can be directed to Rob Lane (Loeb ’09): lane@planandprocess.com
